The Cherry Blossoms Run Mad is the fifth episode of Basilisk ~Ōka Ninpō Chō~.
Synopsis[]
The Joujinshuu continue to cut a swath through the ninja, and Hachirou himself is forced to join the fray.
Summary[]
The enemy arrive, but Gorone refuses to let Hachirō go and Namenba agrees they need to wait for the Five Flowers. Hachirō wonders if they are still alive, as likely them being dead is the reason why the enemy is here. Namenba explains that they aren't trying to protect them because of their positions, but because of their techniques.
Chiō Neiri reveals himself to the Iga and Kōga kids. He wonders if Hibiki and Hachirō are among them, but guesses if they are, they will use their eye techniques to fight back and the others can die. The kids decide to fight back and Utsutsu tries to use her illusions on Chiō, but he understands her technique and says it didn't work on him. Chiō then uses a technique and asks Utsutsu and Saizō if they can guess if its real or not. Meanwhile, Hachisu and Shikibu are fighting the monster and lure it to a cliff, where Hachisu shoots the ground, causing a landslide and making it fall of the cliff. Chiō says that Utsutsu technique is just making illusions and can't hurt anyone, but he just made the illusion real and both Utsutsu and Saizō were lying on the ground with broken bones. Utsutsu then recites a poem, causing Chiō to start burning, which surprises him that she is able to make her illusions real, but he manages to escape. The monster then gets back up the cliff and steps on Shikibu and knocks Hachisu.
Gorone wants Hachirō and Hibiki to run and shows them a tunnel that will lead them into the mountain. At the end of it, Hachirō climbs out first and cut the ladder, wanting to go and end it all before Hibiki manages to catch up to him.
Shichigen arrives and uses his insects to attack the monsters and make him step away from Shikibu. As Rui and Shichigen take Shikibu and Hachisu back, Rui uses her tears and her technique Butterfly on Chiō and they attack him, but he easily defeats them. He realizes Rui's tears stir lusts of men, but explains she lacks the body to seduce anyone. Hachirō then arrives and uses his eyes technique, causing to monster to attack both himself and Chiō, who then gets orders from Joujin to leave. Hachirō tells the other kids to leave and go find Utsutsu and Saizō and then Gorone and Namenba. As they leave, Joujin reveal himself and Hachirō asks him why they killed the Five Flowers and the Five Treasures, and he explains it was to demonstrate power. Hachirō uses his power, but it has no effect on Joujin. Who then explains that no normal man or god can kill without the smallest desire to slaughter or harm, but perhaps due to his spiritual training, he can hurt people while his heart remains calm. Hachirō tries to use his sword, but is easily deflected. Joujin then takes it and prepares to kill Hachirō, but he sees Hibiki arrives too. He orders Itaru Yasha to kill them and then leaves. Itaru tells them to look into her mirror, but notices something is not right and starts to wonder what they had seen. Namenba arrive chasing Itaru away, but then sees Hachirō and Hibiki staring at each other with their eye techniques. A pillar of light and sakura leaves emerges destroying the ground. Gorone manages to come in time and save Namenba. Hachirō and Hibiki remain in the center hugging each other.
