The Joujinshuu Appear is the fourth episode of Basilisk ~Ōka Ninpō Chō~.
Synopsis[]
The slaughter of the Iga and Kouga continues as the Joujinshuu cut a swath through the Five Flowers. Who are they, and what do they want?
Summary[]
Hōetsu Tsuta realizes there is enemy and calls it out. Itaru Yasha appears and cites a poem, and Hōetsu gives her a coin as he will be sending her underworld. He uses his root technique to capture her. But seeing she is beautiful, he decides to have some fun first. Itaru asks him if he isn't ashamed for his act being one of the Five Flowers and if he is ashamed to look into her mirror. As he looks into the mirror, he gets scared and Itaru explains he must had seen his meaningless life and Hōetsu then jumps scared from a cliff, killing himself. Itaru comments that once you look into the mirror and know your futility of your life, you cannot escape her Destiny's Passage.
Joujin reminds Tadanaga that they have met years ago, when his brother had pox and Tenkai was healing him. Joujin tells him that Tadanaga himself had said that his brother will slay him. Tadanaga don't remember such thing and Joujin orders Magoroku Rinne to make him remember. Magoroku then uses his technique, transporting them to another universe.
The remaining Five Flowers had heard Hōetsu's voice and went looking for him. They see an old man holding Hōetsu's head who asks them if they are looking for him. He introduces himself as Chiō Neiri and Shūgetsu Suiren comments he will write his name on his grave. Chiō thanks them for wanting to dig and name his grave, but they first will need to defeat a demon he had brought.
Using Magoroku and Tsuibamu Kujaku technique, they go back in time to when Iemitsu had pox. Tadanaga enters his room to see how's his brother, but Iemitsu gave him a despiteful look. Tadanaga still doesn't believe that his brother was jealous of him and would want to kill him, but Joujin asks him why did Kurokuwa attacked him now and that they serve directly under the Shogunate. He continues to explain, he must had realized that his brother tries to kill him and tells him he needs to start a rebellion.
Rui and Shichigen arrive at Iga village, to find couple of corpses and hope they aren't the Five Flowers. Meanwhile, Joujin tells Tadanaga the others returned and they go out and see the heads of the Five Flowers. Joujin tells him that only two remain, the leaders Hachirō and Hibiki. Tadanaga wonders why he did this and Joujin tells him to show their power and express their desire to save Tadanaga's mother.
Shikibu shares he is afraid of pain, but for Hachirō he is ready to die. Hachisu says she won't die for Hibiki, but for all of them, as they need Hibiki and Hachirō and their blood in order to survive. Saizō calls Utsutsu, telling her that the enemy is here.
